Where exactly does my site run?
On our own hardware in Drenthe, the Netherlands (52.95°N 6.62°E). No hosting company sits in between. Backups run daily to local disks; an off-site copy and a second operational node are being implemented, and the failover design is written down.
Is there an uptime guarantee?
Not a contractual one. We work to 99.9% availability on managed hosting and managed SMTP, and the terms attach no automatic credits to it. What we do instead: if an outage costs you something, customers or time, tell us and we make it right with you, case by case. Everything runs on a single node today, so a hardware, power or network fault can cause an outage until it is repaired or restored from backup. The measured uptime on the status page shows what actually happened.
What happens if the building loses power?
The primary node goes down with it, and the status page says so. There is no automatic multi-region failover, and we will not pretend there is. The failover design is documented, the backups are tested, and a named person is on call to restore or fail over on a schedule you will see in writing.
Do you run Kubernetes or multi-region clusters?
No, on purpose. We operate one well-understood node and would rather tell you that than promise a cluster we cannot run well. If your workload genuinely needs multi-region active-active, that is a different shop, and we will say so and point you there.
Who has access to my systems?
The named on-call person, and you. Source, runbooks, DNS, and the accounts stay yours throughout the engagement. You are never locked to the person who built it.
How fast do you reply?
The same day as a rule, and within 48 hours at most, to every real message. The reply is S/MIME-signed so you can verify it came from us and not from someone who bought a lookalike domain.
What do you deliberately not do?
Bulk or cold marketing mail, autonomous agents with no human in the loop, training foundation models, training on client data for our own use, rescue jobs on an application whose code we are not allowed to change, Kubernetes clusters, multi-region failover, and 24/7 cover. What does it cost?
You get a personal price by email after we have read your brief and looked at what exists, and a signed scope fixes it. Our prices are set for individuals and small organisations, so expect something within reach. If it does not fit your budget, we work out a plan together: a smaller start, spreading the work, or a different setup. A Bio Link page is hosted for €5 a year. There are no retainers with no defined output.
